My works in this series "untitled" was inspired by random moments in time. I draw surreal landscapes on off cut A3 and A2 cartridge.
I
This one is inspired by the hills I see every time I drive home to Putaruru
This was inspired by the book vitamin D. the reason i kept this in the series was because with the research you see the similarities, for some of my works i used the same ideas from a few of the same artists. Ben Goosens used 3D shapes as well as masks in his work so thats why i decided to keep this, eben though without the research it seems out of place
this was inspired by Jackson who used roman numerals in his name and got me thinking about years and time, then clocks.
this was inspired by the movie "son of the mask" i watched two weeks ago
i never thought about it till my mum pointed out that as symbols of theatre, the way i have drawn them suggests that the happy mask could be lucifer coming out of the floor in an alternate universe. the sad mask could be an angel crying over all those whom have sinned. the checker boared is to give the surreal effect
this was inspired by further reflection of the clocks work i done, i then started a thought process of time, then years, then future, then apocolypses. in this image i had drawn a clock with different symbols. at the 3 mark i have the symbol for pi with is 3.1415.... or 3.14. the time shows it's 3:14 in my clock which means it's "pi" time... play on words.. Pie and pi. the text is translated into latin, and in English means "one day will it end. Or will there, one day no longer be an end. Infinity. will it keep going? will it be happy? or will it be sad. will it be a continuous Monotony, or will it no longer exist."
the small txt is this rpeated over and over agan.
this image was inspired by shanaz. i saw the portraits and patterns and wanted to draw one too. at the last second I split the page in half and added what could be a beach landscape with an apple in the foreground. cover one side of the face then the other to get the full effect
